The ultimate jack stand solution for your Porsche Cayman or Boxster

The ultimate jack stand solution for your Porsche Cayman or Boxster

When it comes to maintaining and working on your Porsche Cayman (or other Porsche mid-engine models like the Boxster, GT4, GT4 RS, and Spyder RS), safety and convenience are paramount. Whether you’re changing the oil, inspecting brake components, or performing other routine maintenance tasks, a sturdy and reliable jack stand can make all the difference. That’s where Jackpoint Jackstands come in—designed with robust construction and thoughtful features, they provide a secure, user-friendly solution for elevating your car.

Below, we’ll explore why Jackpoint Jackstands are the best choice for your Porsche and give you important guidance on selecting the right Lift Pads for your specific model.

1. Engineered for Precision and Safety

Your Porsche is a refined piece of engineering—so you should use equipment that matches that precision. Jackpoint Jackstands are crafted to exacting standards to ensure they support your vehicle properly and reduce the risk of slipping. Each stand is built with high-quality materials and tested for maximum load capacity. This attention to detail means you’ll have peace of mind whenever you crawl underneath your Porsche.

Key Safety Benefits:

  • Exact fit: Jackpoint’s unique design is tailored for the precise lift points of high-performance cars like the Cayman and Boxster.
  • Slip-resistant design: A wide base and contoured top seat help keep your vehicle stable, preventing accidental movement or tipping.

2. Effortless Compatibility with Porsche Models

One of the biggest challenges Porsche owners face is finding suitable jack stands that align with the specific lift points and undercarriage configuration. Jackpoint Jackstands solve this problem elegantly—they’re designed to work seamlessly with the recessed lift points on your Porsche, helping you avoid damage to side skirts, pinch welds, or the underbody panel.

3. Choosing the Right Lift Pad for Your Porsche

Jackpoint Jackstands are known for their purpose-built Lift Pads, designed to accommodate various Porsche models and ride heights. Selecting the right pad is crucial for proper alignment and safe lifting. Here’s a breakdown to help you decide:

Non-GT Cayman and Boxster (Factory Height):

  • Use Standard Pads.
  • Perfect for cars that have not been lowered from factory specifications.
  • You can also use our Low Profile Pads but using the Standard Pads will give you more room under the car when lifted.

This is the clearance between the rear axel if a base Cayman is lifted only at the rear. It's approximately 15 inches. Good to know if you're going to do your own oil changes.

GT4 Models (Stock Ride Height):

  • Use Low Profile Pads.
  • The lower stance of the GT4 (even at stock height) typically requires our lower pad

Lowered GT4 Models:

  • Use our Recessed Pads with “lift pucks” and a low-profile floor jack.
  • Our Recessed Pads hold give the lift puck in a slight recess to make the car more stable while on the stands.
  • You may have to lift the rear first with just your jack and the puck to create enough clearance to lift the car using the Lift Pad. Some people use flatstoppers or other items under the rear wheels. If you try to lift the a car that's very low like this without using a puck then you could damage the side skirts with the jack. Always check clearance as you jack up the car.
  • This combination provides the necessary clearance under a significantly lowered car.

GT4 RS or Spyder RS Models:

Aero pieces behind the front wheels demand a more specialized approach.

You’ll need both the Low Profile Pads and the Standard Pads:

  • With Front Axle Lift:
    • You’ll have enough clearance to use the Standard Pad outright.
  • Without Front Axle Lift:
    • Lift the rear of the car first using Low Profile Pads.
    • Once the rear is elevated, you’ll have enough room to slide a Standard Pad under the front jacking points.

By following these guidelines, you can ensure a proper fit while protecting your car’s delicate underbody and aerodynamic components.

4. Fast Lift-and-Lower Process

Working on your Porsche should be hassle-free. Jackpoint Jackstands are designed to make the lift-and-lower process as quick and safe as possible. Because the stands allow you to use a floor jack in tandem with them—without the need to maneuver around awkward pinch welds or precarious corners—you can go from flat on the floor to safely supported in no time.

Why Speed Matters:

  • Reduced labor: Less time fiddling with equipment means more time focusing on the actual repairs or maintenance.
  • Enhanced safety: Quick lifting eliminates prolonged periods where your car is partially supported, reducing the chance of a sudden slip.

5. Durability You Can Rely On

For an investment in your car’s safety, it’s crucial to pick a brand known for longevity. Jackpoint Jackstands use sturdy metal frames that resist bending and corrosion. With proper care, these stands can last for years—making them a cost-effective and dependable tool for any car enthusiast or professional mechanic.
